Celebrating Youth Sunday with
Bethel Methodist Church
It was an SRO crowd as the congregations of Christ Church and Bethel Methodist Church came together to enjoy the service which had been organized by the Ruby Valley Youth Group.

The young people offered their own unique perspective on relationships with God. The skits were both amusing and thought provoking.

The Easter Egg Hunt which followed the service was a fun challenge for the older crowd!

Christ Church would like to thank the Ruby Valley Youth Group for their hard work and planning for a terrific service. The congregation also appreciates the Bethel choir, organist and pianist for their lovely contribution to a special day.

Scott Bond installing the new carpet

It was a long process; and we are all glad it's finished
as well as proud of the new look. More pictures of the
process can be seen below.
The new carpet will be installed the week of July 14. After painting, pulling carpet from the crossing, aisle and rear, and refinishing the floors, we are on the last leg of the journey. The next to last section to be tackled for us was the chancel area. The final portion for us will be to put everything back.

In these pictures, you can see Dwayne Roedel working on the floors. Despite the dust, you can begin to see the difference between the old dark finish and the sanded floors. Upon completion, the floors are now much brighter and almost match the altar. Dwayne also found an original brand from what we think were the flooring contractors in 1902. Apparently it was common practice to brand your company name in the floor. And finally a shot of the new paint job and refinished floor side by side.

As noted on the main page of the website, the refurbishing project is underway. The Choir/Sanctuary area was painted the week of May 19 and the nave will be painted the week of May 25, with the floors being refinished the week of June 1. Here are pictures from the painting and the preparation:

On April 13, 2008, the Sheridan Volunteer Fired Department held a training exercise consisting of a controlled house burn. Departments from Twin Bridges and Virginia City were present, as well as the Madison County Incident Response Team. Fr. Todd took time off from his day job that Sunday and participated in the exercise. Here are a few photos of the event as (mostly) taken by his wife, Joelene.
